Mosaic

While at Catalyst earlier this month. Erwin McManus was talking about why they decided to call their church Mosaic. A church in the heart of Los Angeles, this community is impacting people that would be left out of most churches. It’s a great story.

The thing that struck me was the beauty of the name Mosaic. You see, a mosaic is made up of many different pieces, many of those pieces are broken are remains of something larger. Like us, they’ve been broken, bruised, battered. A Mosaic is a group of these broken pieces formed together by a master artist to bring about a beautiful piece of art. Many things, broken…become one thing, beautiful.

Being broken is not a fun place to be in terms of the general definition of “fun.” Brokenness is sometimes very painful, uncomfortable, disturbing, and can also be quite depressing. But if you find yourself broken, empty, falling to pieces. There is Master Artist that wants to take those broken pieces, the remains, what’s left over and form them to make a beautiful piece of art that shows how truly creative He really is.

The beautiful thing about a Mosaic, like that of a stained glass window is that it is most beautiful when the light shines through it. God is the Master Artist and Jesus is the light.

I’m going to offer what’s left of me to the Master Artist and stand back and be amazed at the beauty created when Jesus shines through me to the world. It’s a beautiful thing. And it’s all for the glory of the Artist. To know Him and to make Him known.

Broken. Beautiful.

The Flame In All of Us

The new album by Thousand Foot Krutch The Flame In All of Us is fantastic. It’s been out for a while, but I just bought it and I am now on my third time through. If you are a rock fan, buy this album. It’s worth every penny. 10 bucks on iTunes. Also, check them out online. Enjoy!

Back, with a new look

October 23, 2007 · No Comments

I’ve taken a brief hiatus from the internet. Sometimes being so “connected” can created problems connecting with your family and friends…and, of course, God. So I took some time off. I’m back now. With a new look, which I’m sure you already noticed.

Lots of thinking going on in this noggin’ of mine. So expect some new blogs and new stuff to come.

Another Great Read

Going All The Way

Craig Groeschel is an author that is quickly becoming a must read for me. There are some authors I love and will read whatever book they write just because I love their way of communicating. Craig Groeschel is one of those authors. His new book “Going All The Way” just came out and I can’t wait to read it. Chazown and Confessions of A Pastor are both great reads and what he is doing with lifechurch.tv is amazing.

We all long for lasting relationships, get this book and find out some practical Biblical principles to make that happen!
