Say you are walking in the woods, there seems to be no one around, you are admiring the beautiful trees, the vast canopy above you. The light pierces the ground like glowing daggers through the blanket of leaves covering high above you head.
You are satisfied with life, you feel at peace with yourself, the world and with those waiting for you back at camp, at home, or wherever. You whistle a tune, or just stand silent as you listen to nature play it’s symphony for the amazing Creator who made all this that you see.
As you walk, a pair of birds fluttering about, almost interwoven in their flight path catches your attention. You continue walking as you see these two free creatures flirting about with their songs echoing through the trees.
You smile a soft smile, breath out a soft chuckle at the cuteness of the moment and take another step….
…into a hole.
You fall, neck deep into a mud pit. Created by a hole left from a tree dug out days ago, it rained only a few days ago and you are now up to your shoulders in dirt and mud.
The forest doesn’t look so beautiful anymore, does it? The lights that pierced the ground from the sun breaking through the leaves no longer make you feel warm and fuzzy, you now feel as if they are taunting you. Showing you what you are missing out on, dancing around the ground that is now nearly eye level.
The more you try to get out of the hole filled with mud, the more firm it’s hold on your feet.
If you feel like you’re all alone….
…..How long before you would cry out for help?
