Dear 2010…

Hello!

We haven’t known each other very long, but so far we’ve treated each other quite nicely. I promise I’ll make the best of our relationship no matter how poorly I may be treated. I understand that you only have so much control over what happens. I’m really the one with the control of I how handle it.

So far, you’ve dropped a lot of snow and it’s beautiful. Thank you. My fiancé and I were driving the other day just talking about how pretty snow is and how we should just sit and watch it by a fire with some hot chocolate, looking out the window. It’s a great idea.

You’re young 2010. Only 5 days old. You’re only going to get older and time will pass like it always does.

You will provide me with a lot of opportunities this year. All of which I hope to take advantage of and use to their fullest potential. People will have an opportunity to hear about Jesus this year. I hope to be a big part of that.

In the summer of your year, 2010, we are going to hold a summer camp for hundreds of teenagers and I can’t wait because it’s going to be spectacular. Love always wins, you know.

Then in August, I will enter into a lifelong partnership with the woman that has picked me to spend the rest of her life with. She is stunning, beautiful, hilarious and talented. I can’t wait to start my life with her and see what future years have in place for us.

Don’t worry, 2010, I won’t rush past you. I want to enjoy the wedding plans with my future bride.

I know not everything will go my way this year, but that’s ok because it will make me grow. I choose to grow, you know? 2010, I want you to remember me as a man with great passion, strong conviction and great discipline.

So… 2010, as you bring what may come. Thanks.

Because I know that you will be the best year I’ve ever had.
